key work is "seems to" :) internally .dmg uses zip or bzip2 compression algorithms. so ya, they would be smaller than a weaker algo, but larger than some of the other compression apps.

why would you even use winzip when every modern OS has builtin support for zip?

While Ruby is a hip and popular language right now, don't you think it's a bit too...advanced and 'improper' to start kids off?

IP4 retiring claim is a little premature. IP4 network is not going to go away in the foreseeable future. IP6 adoption is going to be slow and painful.

No, "average person" won't be able to get just a single IP for themselves.

@nihmrodd: see if you can fool it using subst or ntfs junctions ;)

@MehStrongBadMeh: unfortunately in Windows increasing text dpi messes up layout in my apps and screws up icon sizes.

@SammyD1st: Secure P2P backup network is an interesting solution. But I'd want something like this to be opensource to ensure that all the encryption and algorithms are secure.

@Talthybius: docsis1 is dead. most ISPs now are running on docsis2. some ISPs are now switching to docsis3. Cablevision in NY/NJ/CT area already started deploying docsis3 modems. as a matter of fact, just last week i switched my modem for a docsis3 one. if before during peak hours my download speeds were ~1-3mbit,

@richbeales: security by obscurity is not security.

@psychiccheese: craping WEP is not difficult at all. WEP key can be cracked in literally seconds.

@Talthybius: that was accurate back in docsis1 days, 6-7 years ago. this is no longer the case on docsis2 and even more so on docsis3 systems.
