Chinatown is a brilliant film. The fact that it was made by a dirtbag doesn’t change the fact that it’s a great movie. We have to learn to be okay with horrible people making fantastic art, and to judge the art separately from the maker. Doesn’t make the film any less brilliant, nor the director any less horrible.
