WOW those are some uglyass shoes. I don’t see them as Blackface, though, I see them as black shoes with facial features, of no particular race. The noses are narrow, the lips aren’t particularly exaggerated. The gold ones don’t look like black people, not even gold black people.

They didn’t really share an opinion. They asked other, more qualified people for theirs, and they asked some questions. How does one look for answers without asking questions? I thought they were respectful about it.

This is the actual Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition of Racism:
1: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

But I think it’s considerably more recent that it’s become widely thought of as every bit as bad to dress up as a darker-skinned person in a more realistic, not-cartoony manner. White people have known for eons that Coon Show-type blackface was terrible and dehumanizing. But it’s only more recently that it’s becoming

So, back to the original question. What would you like to see happen with the liberal-type entertainers, or those who have considered themselves liberal but perhaps POC have a different opinion, who at one point performed in blackface or as black characters, have since realized that was a bad thing, disavowed and

The wording of the Chris Pratt item confuses me. Does Zoe Church model itself after Hillsong, except where it comes to LGTBQ, so it does, in fact accept all lifestyles? Or does it follow Hillsong with their Love the Gays Hate the Gayness?

I want to point out that the original formula of Nivea Cream (you’d have to compare ingredients) is almost identical to Cream de la Mer, except it doesn’t have the seaweed compound. But might be worth investigating.

My doctor prescribed a silicone tape for some surgical scars, to flatten them. I don’t know if it helped or they just flattened by themselves, but I’ve seen a similar OTC version that might be worth a try. I believe it has to be somewhat recent scarring, like 3-12 months, for it to work best.

Off topic, but that Bristol Farms is the only market that has good market sushi.

It was Mariel Hemingway, not Margaux, and she was 18 the year it came out, so more likely 17 during filming. (Just looked it up, and I was off- her character was 17, and she was 16 when she filmed it) Yecccch.

But she was 22-23 at the time; young but old enough to play around with an older man. And came off as sophisticated and worldly, not like today’s kids. It was still unlikely, but not quite creepy like other examples.

I would, at least compared to Davidson. More serious, more traditional, more prestigious reputation. He doesn’t have a rep as being a goofball. I don’t know anything about what he’s really like.

.

But Beckinsale doesn’t strike me as that kind of woman. She seems like someone who looks for a straighter, more powerful and traditional guy. Unless she’s just being a tourist.

Balaclavas are traditionally black. Most of the ones you see are black. I can see how someone might have thought it’d be funny to put knit-in lipstick on the mouth opening, without it occurring to them that it looked like blackface. If you remove the racial association, it’s just a visual joke. I have no idea what the

I was paying $10-15 an hour, depending on speed and skill, in the late ‘80s. They were making more money than I was.

I also recall some gossip sites implying she was involved with a very high-end “catering service” that put out a coffee table book of their associates in Helmut Newtonesque style photos, and she was featured. I don’t remember the name of the book, but it was a room number. This was pre-Nashville by several years.

On the other hand, these people get to work out of their home, make their own schedule, not have to deal with inhumane factory conditions and creepy bosses. I agree that it needs some oversight and undoubtedly better pay and hours regulation, but this article is very one-sided.

Either they are so confident in their talent they are convinced they will never have to get a real job, or they are so utterly hopeless about the state of the world, the job market and their employability. Plus bad impulse control. Plus stupid.

I’m not making any excuses for Camille Paglia! She’s just a provocateur and the stupid crap she writes is deliberate.
