Welp, we seem to be slowly getting there. This is what AT&T told us a mobile phone would look like back in the ‘50s.

No one loves dogs more than I; I’ve had many beloved canine companions. However, dogs are as they are because we made them that way. For at least the last 50,000 years people have been selectively breeding dogs for obedience, loyalty, affection and intelligence, and of course to differentiate them from wolves. Pups…
Man, I’m having a ‘60s flashback. I was around for many of the big protests back then, especially those in and around DC. I was an undergrad at the University of Maryland when the National Guard occupied the campus; there was an armed soldier on every street corner, and tear gas everywhere.

However, the golden age Warner cartoons were of their time, a once-in-a-lifetime unplanned confluence of corporate inattention, adequate budget, and stellar genius writers, animators, artists, voice actors and musicians; we will never see their…
People have been breeding dogs for 50,000 years. Cats, on the other hand, were domesticated only about 3,000 years ago and have basically not changed. Your dog is intelligent, affectionate and obedient because people made them that way. Your cat is still a wild animal who just lives in your house.

Friends did this in episode 0325 The One at the Beach.
As always, Buckaroo Banzai leads the way:
“... a telegraph machine that broadcasted calls from the ship as it sank.”
