technically Bad Boys 4 and that other film are just “on pause” so he hasn’t technically “lost” any films yet, given how badly Sony needs a hit I don’t see them canning BB4.

Bingo that’s Hollywood for you. Maybe the Academy will think twice before they trot Chris rock out of the Big House again to demean black women and their causes.

But I bet you Rock got the message loud in clear about what we as a people will and will not tolerate comedian or no comedian.

I suspect it’s performative on the part of the Academy.  Once the furor blows over and the vanishingly small number of people who truly care about this move on to their next shiny object, the Academy will quietly lift the ban.

So I guess it’s ok to make fun of a woman’s medical condition, but not okay to make a scene if you’re a person of color.
