Honestly I’m kinda over the “lack of diversity in the workplace” thing. You can’t hire someone who is a person of color or a minority or a female (or any combination) just because you need diversity. You hire the best person for the position regardless of race or gender. Period.

It’s one thing to put a 150k miles on a car you’ve owned since it was new or lightly used, when you know all the routine maintenance has been taken care of. Buying one with 150k miles and an unknown history is another matter.

“There’s not a lot of vehicles playing in this space. We’ve got the equity and the credibility,” Mark Grueber, Bronco’s consumer-marketing manager, told reporters in a briefing last week. “We just see it as an ideal time.”

Just because you wouldn’t pay for it....

So...what will you do when he doesn’t pick one? Oh, right, support him anyway, because you have no leverage.

If they use VW bulbs, they may not last long enough to get a picture before needing to be changed again.

Not to mention how often that variation of the story sank into Prequel levels of cheesiness and sentimentality

not saying that this isn’t misogyny,

I feel like any time a Brand is asked to comment on making their product “for women” or “for men” or “for (insert demographic here), they should default to “our products are for everyone who wants them” rather than circumlocute themselves into cringey statements like they typically do. And then actually follow

Back in 1988, I was working the overnight shift at a hotel in Grand Rapids, MI. I pulled into work to see the Silk Cut transporter in our lot. I was a big fan, having just watched the race a week before. Stunned, I checked and sure enough, Jan Lammers and Davy Jones were registered. Around midnight, the crew and

Yeah. Management is bad. And those letters don’t help.

Who said anything about safe?  I would say this is about as safe as having a job at Deadspin and not writing about sports.

I have been fortunate enough to fly on several private jets as a co-op student. I would fly on private jets in a heartbeat if I had the money.

No, a corporation’s long term goal is to return value to its shareholders. Expecting any business to do more than is legally required of it is naive at best. That’s what government is for. You want change, focus your outrage on the non-functioning government we have now.

Seems somewhat relevant, so here’s my old 2pointSlow mk3 Jetta, which my dad fully restored as a passion project after I moved to the mainland US. Not fast, but it’s fun to drive at the limit and likely the only reliable water cooled VW ever made.

Yes. Those things happen. But not in the Mk3. Mk3 ABA intake manifolds don’t die like Mk4 ones do, headliners don’t fall like Mk4s, and leaks aren’t normal except oil. Power window regulators do die predictably, but they give you warning signs, and manual regulators don’t fail. The weakest points of the Mk3 are the

Unfortunately for your pedantry, the common understanding of the term “American” — even among all other Western Hemisphere, non-USA countries — is that it means specifically and primarily of or from the United States of America. Mexicans don’t call themselves Americans. Canadians don’t call themselves Americans.
