What makes money in the US market is different than what makes money in India and China. In those markets nice vans are prestige vehicles.

Only if Indy can de-uglify their cars.

We have lots of boring racing circuits. They’re called ovals

“What person is going to buy a practical electric car from an unproven upstart?”

This. I work in the industry, and can tell you they have poached some very talented people. I think its daft to not give them the benefit of the doubt.

I get your point. I do. My point about ideal is that investors that want to spend the money to obtain such a status and track rating want to do so with new tracks. Not rebuild old ones. In a way, it is harder and more expensive to fix up an old track, because those funds are harder to gain. It isn’t about stupidity.

The “hype” thing is pretty much the same for all startups.

I’ve never had anything stolen, but there’s a reason Geico wants $2000/yr to insure my car, and $4600/yr to insure my bike (about 60% of its worth, I’ll go liability only on that one, thanks).

“Then they went on vacation.” sums up working with anyone in Europe.

Yeah, the media seems completely butt hurt about the way they feel they were somehow cheated at CES. Elon can do no wrong, according to Gawker Media (or whatever they’re called now), but Faraday Future is just a bunch of clowns that once created a concept car for a trade show. As if that’s never been done before.

“Great tracks” aren’t always tier-1 grade FIA tracks. Look at Mexico and the Red Bull Ring as examples. Hundreds of millions were spent to get them up to spec to host an F1 race.

If their core competency turns out to be good product at 60% of Tesla prices with strong access to the Asian market, they might be on to something.

Another fun fact: Ricardo do the Veyron’s (and the Chiron’s) twin clutch gearboxes.

Er, Lotus, you say? They’re a big engineering house, in addition to being a car builder. Maybe they had something to to with the assembly of the engine. Fun Fact: Ricardo assembles the V8 for McLaren.

Problem is the establishment has lost control of the party. If Trump loses, the bloodbath is going to be epic. The Trumpkins are not going away, and they are going to turn their wrath on the DC establishment and NeverTrump conservatives.

It’s possible he’s decided Trump is going to win, which means “I told you so” becomes pointless at least until 2024.

Based on current polls nobody is trouncing anyone. And nobody is going to cleanse anything. Look at what the GOP did after 2008 and 2012.

“After Clinton trounces Trump in November”

The “*eyeroll* video games* thing is just an extension of the “ugh, millenials” thing, guys.
