@st41rw3ll: As an American with Scotch-Irish/French/Italian blood, I find myself chuckling over someone exoticizing your (our?) ethnicity.

@Lassus: I agree, re: Jewel. My first thought when I saw that was "oh Jewel, not cool. Very mean-spirited!"
@Janeyboo: The truth hurts, doesn't it? I thought he was hilarious.
@BelleBreezing: This news makes me blue (myself).
@Le Coucher d'Yvette: I think if I ever start a band, I want the name to be Non-Sartorial Penis.
@frecklewho: Well it's funny how these things happen. One day you're not even thinking about it and the next day a little tiny sperm happens to slip past whatever obstacles are in its path and hits your egg and, oops! Now you're thinking about it.
@CogitoErgoNom: Ultimately though, my point is that I think that people should be able to study what they want to study and get a degree based on that, not based on some random requirements the school has decided to make them fulfill without structuring those requirements so they relate in any way to the student's…
@CogitoErgoNom: I definitely agree the scheduling system is effed as well. Letting seniors register first guarantees they get the classes they need, but it also leaves freshman with the shitty leftovers sometimes and honestly, the people who are on their own for the first time, might not be sure about their future…
@NaraVara: Well but that's exactly my point. I'm an English major who has had multiple science classes and is even interested in science and had considered going into biology in college. But with the gen ed science classes I was required to take, I wouldn't be able to write an article about science to save my life.…
[jezebel.com] #cotd So very much #cotd!
Woohoo! I'm a quoted tipster on Jezebel!! So glad my tip paid off.
@IdaTarbell: Most new students try to get all gen. ed. classes out of the way, which means they're engaging in courses they might find boring or tedious for 1 1/2 years. If they're not excited about their classes, they're not going to make an effort to learn.
@NaraVara: You're talking to someone with a BA in English and a Masters in Publishing, so I'm not saying art and literature degrees are for people too lazy to learn real subjects. But it's much more easy to find someone with a natural writing gift than someone who naturally knows a buttload of scientific knowledge.
@CogitoErgoNom: But really, how much science information is a journalism student with no interest in science going to retain after they finish their required courses and move on to their major classes?
@RetiredPartyGrrl: I don't know enough about peoples' careers and their personal media to know if anything like this has ruined a career before. But if I were a celeb, I would hate to find out the hard way if it were possible.
@rowingrowingrowing: I would really love to know the answer to this too.
@Malle.Babbe: Because they're attention-seekers. They don't want other people (ya know, actual victims) using the "victim mentality" to steal attention away from them and their victimhood.
@RetiredPartyGrrl: The point is, she's trying to besmirch his character to ruin his career. I wouldn't care who knew about my sexual proclivities (except maybe my mother) but my job isn't dependent on the public opinion.
@Fridge Hussy: A Hussy Re: Fridges!: Yeah...like I said. Bullshit. So basically the Golden Globes mean nothing.
Is it just me, or does it seem incredibly unprofessional for an award's show (even if it's unconfirmed as true) to say that one actor's body of work will never be nominated just because he embarrassed a few people on the organization's board? Isn't the whole point of an award's show to recognize THE BEST, not The…
