@Nimnyn: Therein lies the rub. At this point they aren't even commenting on the TV show. Rather, they are critiquing the body itself, or more importantly, bodies they do not agree with. It makes me ill.

@otherginger: I totally did too. You're not alone. That's one politically-conscious hoo-ha!

@d_r_e: Actually there is something offensive about The Blob. The same thing that's offensive about Blubberella. It's fatsploitation and both characters are people whose size defines them (down to their offensive nicknames). If you don't understand why it's offensive to call a fat person a "Blob" or "Blubberella"

@d_r_e: Newsflash: just because the blob has been around for a ridiculous amount of time doesn't mean he's not offensive.

@returnonthehoney: It has nothing to do with privilege. If you were bitching about an actual movie centered around a bunch of white women with the black woman shoved into some cliched and secondary role, I would completely agree with you. Privilege or not. But all we know about this movie is that it will star three

@GoldieLocks: I agree it might not be the most appropriate to say things in front of the kid. However, I do think it's fairly realistic for adults to forget themselves from time to time. My parents talked so much smack about each others' families in front of my sister and I when we were younger.

@returnonthehoney: Why don't we just wait and see what the movie ends up being about, instead of jumping all over it with our jaded pessimism, huh? It hasn't even been written yet and already you're touting it as a vehicle of white privilege, despite the involvement of one of the (if not the number one) most powerful

@VisforVanity: So a person has to get into a relationship now to be considered gay or bi? You can't just "play" as it were? Because if that's the case, my 13 years of "playing" with other men doesn't mean a thing and I'm still just another hetero.

@returnonthehoney: I think Oprah would have something to say about you categorizing her as a white woman.

@jessicarabbit: It doesn't sound like they'll be shopping so much as selling.

@VisforVanity: She's already made statements about being sexually open. She's never self-identified as bi, but she's definitely non-hetero.

@frivoloussal: Considering Michael C is from a family that put him in an arranged heterosexual marriage when he was very young (which is where his 2 children came from), and that this culture seems completely unaccepting of homosexuality (his ex-wife doesn't want him to have anything to do with his daughter and

::slow clap:: I hope he got an A+ for this.

Sean Penn stars as Chyna in The Wrestler II: For Realz.

@wtfox?!: I want a sloth hand-hug!!

@calamity jane: Everyone's bound to back a strange one every now and then, but I'm definitely intrigued. In fact, the book is on it's way to me right now. (for free, natch - I have a friend at his publisher)

The fact that Kirkus gave him a star speaks volumes to me. They are often BRUTAL. Maybe that's just on the children's book side, but I always take positive Kirkus Reviews as something to pay attention to.

@toastandlove: That, sadly, makes sense (ad/marketing-wise). It also makes me lose a little faith in humanity, but who am I kidding - that was already going away at a strikingly rapid pace.

"Hey Girl, I'd experiment with dudes if the right dude came along." Is what I wish his "hey girl" looks were saying every time I see that smoldering face of his. And by "the right dude" I mean me.
