This doesn’t “feel similar” though. Blurred Lines was an obvious rip-off and the similarity of the hook/tune was undeniable. This is similar only in genre, and in that case, every funk artist could sue every other funk artist just for playing the same genre of music.

Not a rap song. Labels go through a lot of work to make sure samples get cleared before an album comes out including giving up publishing. If the sample can't be cleared they scrap the song or have the sound recreated by other musicians.
