My one critique of this season is that Angie isn't around, she and Peggy had great chemistry. That said, I think Ana fills a similar role and does a great job of it, and gives a lot more opportunities for Jarvis to shine. Both are almost criminally likeable and the presence of either makes the scene better.

I think the show did away with basically any gay "subtext" by the end.

You're right you don't hear a bad word about him from people he's worked with, but a ton of people I've met refuse to watch him for the Scientology stuff alone. I think the beliefs are weird, but I don't think I could ever dislike a person solely based on their religion.

I tried so hard to forget that.

If I were I'd be dead long before now.

Oh i agree, which is a reason I don't have a lot of ire for Cruise. He doesn't go around making Battlefield Earth or trying to shove his beliefs down the throat of his coworkers. Chinatown is one of my favourite films and, even though i think Polanski is human garbage, i'll recommend it to anyone.

I love the emphasis on movement and just visuals in general in the movie. Fury Road actually trusts it's audience to notice things within the frame rather than explaining it to them using words.

I might be the only one around here to actually like Spectre. It was too long and tried to hard to connect to the last few Bonds, but that opening 15 minutes might be the best of any Bond ever.

Before I actually read a Bond book I'd have argued with you. But now? God, the man was perfect casting.

I think the deal here is that Fury Road doesn't hide the fact that this is Furiosa's film. She's more interesting, she has more lines and she drives (ahem) the action. Max steps into the sidekick role but makes game changing plans later on.

People get very huffy over the similarities to the originals, which I can understand even if i disagree, but I am also very aware that these are the same people who go around saying the new cast sucks because it's different to the old one.

Nostalgia Critic is someone who seemed right up my alley in terms of content but I have a really heavy dislike of his attitude toward the things he reviews.

I've used the argument on precisely one occasion: Tom Cruise. Obviously he's batshit insane and believes in something that has pretty literally destroyed peoples' lives. But I love so many of his movies. But he isn't an idiot and i don't think he's malicious, he's just a kook.

The show is in too deep now to drop the 'truth' stuff, but I'd be okay if they just ignored it for the whole of next season (or forever). Maybe have a mini arc that gets wrapped up in six episodes if they still want a through line.

If it didn't make my top ten it would make my top fifteen. I hadn't had that much fun with a TV episode in a while.

Only if it has Anderson's British accent.

I apologise on behalf of Adelaide for Cold Chisel.

That's why I liked it - it was unusual. I can see where you're coming from though, and like I said, it certainly didn't ruin anything, but eventually I just get tired of that "they're both straight, they're totally gonna bang right?" thing TV shows like to do.

NoRoMos is indeed an unfortunate name for a concept that I actually agree with. X-Files was by no means ruined by getting Mulder and Scully together, but I think their relationship was more interesting when they were friends.

I agree to an almost unreasonable degree about Angel/Cordelia. I didn't actually "get" Angel/Buffy until my second or third watch of the show, and even then I believe it only worked on a thematic level. I concede that that may be just me and my dead heart though. Angel and Cordelia always had an emotional resonance
