That’s why I love torque wrenches: they keep me honest. For common bolts like the drain plug, I write the torque spec on it or nearby.

Yep, oil on the new gasket is a must. You put it on dry, you’re gonna have a fight on your hands the next time. I’ve noticed some filters like the OEM Toyota ones I get have grease already applied, which is cool.

Any hokey crap on it? Mercedes has been doing very tacky things lately and as I’m very convinced that I’ll be buying it used someday, things like illuminated logos or logos in puddle lights are going to damage that dream.

The transmission was the problem. Well that and working on them. Holy crap what a tight fit. The engine was basically the T5 with an extra cylinder and another turbo.

The SE trim on the Camry made a world of difference. Still not top notch, but a lot better.
