Good to know. Dealerships too, huh? Why do they offer them?

Try doing it in the dark ;-)
I could see that being useful and something I’d take advantage of from time to time. I’d be concerned about how they load my stuff though. It seems like most people out there don’t have the first idea of how to properly secure a load. That said, if the driver/company takes full responsibility for the load and…
Yeah, but don’t those stores only rent to you if you buy something from them that warrants it? I remember the Home Depot near me telling me as much.
And even then, have a bank count the money and check for counterfeits. Most banks will do this as a free courtesy and it only takes a few minutes.
Those are great looking wagons. At least you didn’t end up with one a few years older with the transmission problems. The XC90 I got had about 150k miles and needed way more than I bargained for, but so far everything I’ve done has paid off.
Gotta say, I agree. For whatever it’s worth.
They’re offering some pretty long term loans these days. And mods can be financed. Dunno what the status is here, but it’s one possibility. I’m with you though. I didn’t make enough to properly afford a $30k car until maybe my mid-20s after having established a career for many years working full-time. And then I went…
Agreed. If you have one, it’s because you’re invested in it emotionally, and probably financially as well. The nice thing is once you get the albeit expensive common issues resolved they tend to be good to go for quite a while.
Looks like you and EMF15Q may have been separated at birth! Same picture, very similar description.

lol My second car was a 2004 Camry SE. It was a good car, looked good, and ultimately was what I needed at the time. I may have kept it longer but that automatic transmission was just terrible. Too bad it wasn’t a manual...
My 90 year old neighbors drove that thing when I was growing up and I didn’t realize until recently how unique it was. That car is going to be (was?) a hell of a find for someone.
Very good looking car. The interior on the first generation was pretty bad though.
Jesus murphy. Superduty tax right there.
lol Thanks to parts catalogs, yeah. As far as busy designs go, though, I still like it.
I didn’t really have a car that I latched onto until I saw Gone in 60 Seconds (yeah the Nic Cage one), and then it was Eleanor.
Wheel bearings are weird. Sometimes they’ll make a racket for years, and other times they’ll disintegrate before you get a chance to pull of the road.
Agreed. I much prefer knowing a part is in tip-top shape. Then again, I haven’t driven a car with less than 150k miles in many years.
I love that the sealed units are so simple to swap in and last so long (don’t need regular re-packing), but my lord they’re expensive. On my last car $100 would get you all new bearings, races and a bucket of grease. On my new car the bearings are around $200 per wheel. Yeesh!
