@basketofkittens: ...and, critically, both of them retain their B-pillars, so neither is a hardtop.

@Novaload: A cool refrigerator is a good refrigerator.

I still maintain that the 24 Hours of (Chrysler, Plymouth, Maserati) Sebrings is a brilliant idea.

@djscruffy: Aye, my 244 is perfect, save for a lack of power, a lack of wagonitude, an automatic gearbox, and my unwillingness to subject her to another winter of salt without some protection - as well as some minor maintenance that I need to get to. This wagon solves all of those problems, save for the lack of clutch

@jdepould: My automatic stalls itself... but that's my fault, because she doesn't idle properly. Probably the throttle body. Again.

@jimheem: The best part is setting the handbrake, leaving it in Drive, and wondering why you can't get your keys - well, not so much in my 244, because you can take the keys out with the lever in any position, come back, and realise you can't start the car...

If the measure is 'ability to reliably start up a steep hill', that's hilarious and I really can't. If it's 'ability to get across town, avoiding large hills, without trouble or damage', I can. Both my cars have, by coincidence, been automatics (so I haven't had enough practice), though I keep telling myself that I

I need to get the photos up of the local Targa (I pinned it down as roughly an '82)... same wheels, similarly excellent condition. What an iconic car.

@djscruffy: Aye, it's this one here. I say "am buying" because it's as good as mine, and the bill of sale is in the mail from California; however, it's not legally mine yet.

So, is there a remotely modern version of Skype for Linux yet?

@Raphael Huber: Wait, they've actually got Skype 4 for Mac now? Last time I looked they hadn't.

@JACrazy: Their mistake, really. Intel's their primary competitor on the low end, though, given that their onboard video, with the advent of the iWhatevers, has improved from "totally shit" to "not quite a punchline anymore".

@ElkRock: Speed cameras scare me because of the inability to face one's accuser and defend oneself. I live across the street from a school-zone speed limit sign with a flashing yellow light; the light is programmed to come on a bit before school starts and ends and go off shortly afterward. However, it's not turned

@djscruffy: The '92 I'm buying has virtually none, aside from a couple surface patches. I've never seen a rusty 740/940 - 240s have a few spots that'll rust out if not watched, especially on older cars (before the galvanisation was done properly) but 7/9s seem solid.

@ranwhenparked: The only reason I tolerate Cadillac's setup is that the names carry forth as abbreviations - Catera/Seville/DeVille Touring Sedan. The "A" in "ATS"? Well, I figure it stands for "Aspirational".

@Triborough: They could just give it a point of view from a theatre box if the current crossover-led attempt at a renaissance fails.

@PipeSmokingVolvoDriver: If that's yours in your avatar - metallic navy blue 244 - it's identical to my parts car (which has rotted-out rockers/buttcheek/part of the unibody and most of the interior disassembled). It's also an '89. The DD is Mid-Blue - 213-2 - over blue cloth, while the wagon's a '92 745T in the same

@BrianMadigan: Me either. It'd be a cool bonus, but really, fuck it. I'd rank it on par, perhaps, with a Reatta/Allanté - I'd drive any of 'em once, quite happily, but couldn't live with 'em. Actually, the friend in question is the opposite - I could live with her, but have no interest in driving...

@Yurikaze: My RWD Volvo has enough electrical issues for my taste. I'd hate to feel your pain firsthand.
