Even having read all seven books at various points, it took me until halfway through the comment to remember just why it was funny.

I was hoping to make a joke about Massachusetts drivers here, but it looks to actually have a front plate. Oh, well.

Now playing

@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: The hell with that - they're harder to park, get miserable fuel economy, and don't handle. No, what you need in the city is a Volvo 240 - excellent visibility; economical and reliable operation; mellow, bump-absorbing suspension, ridiculously tight turning radius (32 feet!) and...

@SS427: No, no - I for one wasn't insulted, just picking fun at your spelling.

@Bubs: The southern Maine coast (anywhere south of Portland) is horrible for this as well. Towns with a population of maybe a couple thousand in the winter swell to several times that, and it ends up taking an hour to get from one town to the next on Route 1.

@OMGItsWeasel: Nah, I'm all for slower traffic using its hazards. I'm a lot more concerned about people who drive in the rain with no headlights - I've pulled out in front of people driving black cars with no lights in the rain, and realised it as I was already in the road. Wipers on, headlights on, thank you.

Well, this should be easy to spot when I come up behind it on the interstate.

@YankBoffin: If the Vibe is fine, why not the Matrix, Corolla, or Tacoma? Precisely.

@MushyHeirloom: (All of those save the Renault-based Medallion are Mitsubishis, of course.)

@duurtlang: Dodge D-50 pickup? Conquest? '78-'83 Challenger? Colt/Summit? Raider? (Plymouth) Laser? Hell, how about an Eagle Medallion/Talon?

Oh, hey there, fourth-generation Sonata.

@arozzi: Sure. I wouldn't turn down the right CB7, for instance. A CR-V, though? Ugh.

I'd figured that was exactly why the headlight was missing. Awesome!

@MaxSmart32: My mother had a '95 Contour with the MTX-75, and it was actually a brilliant car. That made all the difference.
