@superveloce: Completely agreed - hell, even a five-speed alone would make this a fair price. As it stands, I have to sit this one out.

@Type R: 1990-'91 EX? Nah, man, that's quick enough, even with an automatic. I have a friend who's had three CB7s... really the only downsides are head gaskets (180-190k miles), rear-arch rust (obviously), and the likelihood of theft (though his have been beaters)...

@palewhitemale: Nah, it's a failure because that speed isn't ridiculously slow.

@MadHungarian: I've done some... worryingly rapid things with a stock Volvo 240, and I know for a fact that it will (eventually and shakily, because I need an alignment) get at least to 90 MPH. Now, a 240D... won't, unless you have a straight, smooth mountain to drive it down.

The most concerning thing here is that they've made it look like a first-generation Tiburon by adding that horrible body kit.

@OldElvis: Hell, of all the random times of day I've driven from Quincy back toward Route 2 (93S to 128), every time I get to the Route 24 terminus in Milton, there's a goddamn queue. Part of the problem is that I always forget it's coming up and end up merging late into the middle lane... part of it's the sheer

@CID_Vicious: Promoted because it's an interesting theory, not because I inherently agree or disagree.

@CJinSD: I was under the impression that gays obsessed with style bought Mini Coopers or Miatas or C30s or something, and the remaining majority bought whatever they pleased. This is neither stylish nor practical, and thus I suggest it be led out behind the barn and shot.

@Turkieshooter: The Jeep Compass looks butch in the same way that a pug looks butch - it's cute and might look vaguely imposing if you didn't know better.

@alex_mcg: "I don't wanna be a fucked-up middle-class college student anymore!"

@Audaxero: From the factory, the power locks share a fuse with the dome/trunk/hood/glove-box lights and the power antenna that I don't have... making it not such a big deal when I pull the fuse when the car's parked (something in the power lock system is malfunctioning and draining the battery - I believe it's a bad

@Americanitis: Hah! Seriously, a 940/960/V90 is damn near as safe, and far, far more RWD than an 850... I'd love me some Amazon, though. Someday I'll take one on as a project...

@Instructor: Last time I drove a different car was a friend's Saab 9-3 (2001) - the first thing I noticed was that unlike my Volvo 244, I couldn't just turn around and look where I was going, I had to use my mirrors almost exclusively. Sad, because aside from that and the questionable (yet recently serviced) brakes,

@Wolfy Kovac: The dissolving wires were cured somewhere around '88 - I don't know exactly.

@SpainIsInYurp: This comment amused me greatly. I just thought you should know.

There's nothing like a wiring system that simply devolves into a mass of jumbled, short-circuiting copper after a set period of time, is there?

@Instructor: True, but it's still a proper shame. Whatever happened to being able to see where you were merging or backing into, or resting your arm on the windowsill?

@smokyburnout: So "smokyburnout" has less to do with tyre smoke than I'd assumed...?
