I love how they tested previous death beam on a real boat 'for more authenticity', completely ignoring fact that wood on real boats is fireproofed by soaking it with resins. As great poet once said - ambitious but rubbish :)

@Mojonaut: it's not that big deal, there are loots of organized car spotters living around the ring (basically every kid there :), also test crews often rest in normal hotels, sometimes parking their camouflaged prototypes outside, being spotted on the Ring is part of marketing.
