I’m speaking in generalities regarding the hallowed unwritted rules, but there is a long understanding that dirty slides lead to batters getting pegged. This leads to batters on the other team getting pegged and other dirty slides.

I’ve seen it all over the place in contention here, but mostly people debating if its ok to call it a career. This seems a little silly to me as its potentially gainful employment whose income can be expanded upon over time and with experience. Why some people are so offended that others are making a buck off this god…
Elite Dangerous has one of the absolute best player communities there is. There’s simply no excuse for a lack of people to play with. TeamSpeak, Discord, Forums, you name it. Saying “hello” to any member of the countless organized player groups is all that is usually required.
i run a 700 + member group in ED. It’s funny, people seem to be amazed that in a game with over 400 billion stars you have to actually go to busy places to see other people. who knew?!
It’s amusing entering a discussion about Dark Souls because 90% of the people talking about how great it is probably cheated heavily through wikis, discussion, and other metagaming. I mean, you don’t have to...I blazed through most of DeSo and DaSo just by grinding. But the reality is, it’s not GREAT game design, it’s…
Yeah, I took issue with some of the control issues (the aforementioned bow) more than some other things, but mostly because I very quickly realized that I was going to be consulting the internet for the majority of the game. I’m pretty sure I’d have given up if this were the 80s (pre-internet), because I don’t have…
Cult-like is probably the perfect term to describe DS fans.
But trial and error is just a cheap way to pad the length of your game, and artificially raise the level of difficulty.
Yeah, it didn’t help that the actual menus in the game were written in barely comprehensible English.
People seem to misinterpret my initial comment as ‘the game tells you what the controls are’, when the basic mechanics of a game go much deeper than that.
Teaching you enough just to scrape by is bad design.
If it makes you feel better in the sea of blind loyalty. Dragon’s dogma for all its flaws in the plot, no game RPG has ever matched the awesomeness of DD. I think DS players are used to the terrible combat from western action RPGs that when the original demon souls came about it felt refreshing and the fans eventually…
The game teaches you how to make a PB&J sandwich and expects you to be able to figure out how to make a friggn Philly cheese steak on your own. It’s not the best system IMO.
