Yes you make a good point. However it is just how the character comes across. Like how when Quinlan came to recruit him and he blew him off. I just dont see much growth in the attitude of the character. It is like he could do something that makes no sense at any time.

Exactly. The way that the prisoner tried to take over when they got out of the prison is something that I could see Gus doing. He is the type to tell Quinlan he wants to be lead vampire killer and challenge him. Such a bad character.
