Good point. I think the character was meant to be deadly serious about finding his life savings. When casting Vaughn I am sure he, Pizzolatto and the directors wanted him to play it straight to avoid slipping into his comfort zone doing his usual self effacing, slick Vaughn thing he is known for. That was the

I think Cohle character was written so well and fit McConaughey because it sounded like some off the wall stuff he would say(just look at the Lincoln commercials). Also the drug damaged past lent to his bizarre rants on humanity. In essence he was messed up so what he said fit. If Matt had to deliver Vaughn's lines

Vaughn is doing his best with tough dialogue. Could any actor deliver his lines and not make them sound odd or silly?

Ha. Brilliant.

So why watch at all if none of it interests you?

You are correct on all points, but I was fine with his conflict in telling her he killed the wrong guy. He has to save and build that anger to confront Frank.

The boy must die and he must die slowly.

A dead baby sewn into a pregnant pig. Proof that NBC has never once watched this show before airing. Also, if Alana hadn't shown up Hannibal would have been limbless. For all his calm and cool demeanor, he was not getting out of that situation without help.

Why did you loathe it?

Ethan's "believe me now?" with Kate having to eat it was the highlight of the episode.

I didn't consider that. She did say he wasn't Elliot before cutting off. They almost have to do this switch cause I refuse to believe Esmail woud directly rip Durden. The show is called Mr Robot

Season 3 would have to cast Brad Pitt and Tom Hardy to not get the intial hate. Not happening, but Vince Vaughn had the most criticism when casting news came. Hopefully Pizzolatto wants to do a 3rd season. He seems to be refining his process trying different directors and help writing.

I disagree. Just last week this section was stating how season 1 comparisons only hinder enjoyment or objectivity to 2. Now its back to living up to 1. I guess I am frustrated by commentary that constantly trys to say how awful S2 is but they only continue to watch to critique. I mean ppl are complaining about close

Nope. They picked the most fascinating scene to do season 2 on. Sioux Falls, bodies stacked so high you could have climbed to the second floor. Im all in.

YES! Nailed it. The director by committee approach is the root of any issue for me. This show needs a singular vision in conjunction with Nic. Wish Lin did entire season.

Once again the vast majority compare every fucking frame of season 2 to 1 which is absurd. It is amusing cause I remember season 1 comments saying how slow first 2 episodses were and how TD fell apart with the weak last 3 episodes and tons shitted on the finale. So the rose color glasses are on. Let Td 2 be its own

So to the.viewers of this show that claim it is a joke, Pizzolatto is horrible, Td is boring, etc why continue to watch at all if it is so vile? Just honestly curious.

This will be a crime in tv history. Bigger then the cancellations of Deadwood or Rome or whatever show you can think of that is the standard reference for early demise. There will not be a show like Hannibal ever on tv and networks should be ashamed at themselves for not letting Fuller finish his vision on a network

Can Joe Anderson get full credit for absolutely owning Mason Verger? He has made me forget about Michael Pitt so fast it is incredible.

I thought it was part of the freezing process.
