It is not lost on some of us that mobility in this country is tied directly to the will of the person. Most immigrants, such as yourself, seem to get that just fine and end up doing very well. They do without, value education, take risks of opening businesses, and save their money. And work their asses off. Kudos to

That's not how assembly lines work. But I get the metaphor.

Your story is great, I suspect you had a very strong support system within your family and I also suspect that though your family did not speak English well your parents were reasonably well educated.

Unions are a natural response to the forces of capitalism.

Good old Smittybilt! Still got two or three different bumpers behind my parents house if they haven't rusted away yet. I just checked out their site and was surprised at how much they offer now. http://www.smittybilt.com/

and with the "roll bars" on these new pickups just attached to the top of the bed, meh.

I never found a roll bar I liked under like $1000. I built custom plate bumpers for both ends, and some other things, mostly because I destroyed my ARB safari bar and figured I needed something more robust. Never built a roll bar though because I could never find access to a tube bender robust enough to bend what i

used to own almost this exact truck. Since I bought it, I always wanted a roll bar because it looked wrong without it. Never got one I liked. Sold truck.

It just seemed very funny that my $20k car was cheaper than a $13k car.

The super 80's/90's roll bars are the best part! Then again, I have a fetish for pop-up headlights, and rear window louvers too.

thanks!

YES! I forgot to say that.

I didn't know about the i3 range extender option, so yes add that one to the list. Electric only is great, but not entirely feasible if you only want one car. Sure, you can get a rental or something if you're going farther than 40mi or so, but in a lot of sprawl-y areas that could be a not-infrequent day trip. I

Oh I got that hence the "clumsily exchange" in my original post, realistically I reckon it could get to $8k.

It's longer, not lower to the ground. Same height, 9 inches longer than a Forester in the current model year. It's fully a crossover.

I suggested a Citroen DS. I'm holding out hope he still picks one up as his 'other car'.
