The angle with his kid is actually kind of interesting now that the kid is older and has to choose sides. If Starr wasn’t so good at it the whole thing would have fallen flat years ago though.
Oh hell yeah that’s definitely one of the draws for me, especially in the later seasons when a rich guy like Silver is willing to burn everything down for it. Some of the best parts of the series are when Amanda is like ‘This is all friggen teenage karate what is wrong with you people?’

I’d read the original novel before seeing the movie and in that context it was impossible not to see the satire.
More complex than in the film but still willing to go utterly insane when it came to teenagers and karate. Over the top in all the best ways!
Last Action Hero is up there in my top 10 favorite action movies. I love that people appreciate it more these days because I was like the only person laughing my ass off in the theater when I saw it.
It didn’t fail at being FUCKING AWESOME though.
