Very true, this is generally what internet debates devolve into, we'd look like insane people if we argued like this in real life

I like this story because in a way it’s uniquely American. It’s about sporting excellence, pride in your accomplishments and not even pretending to understand the concept of moderation.

Or when the US women’s team repeatedly cried to the ref that the Canadian goalie was “holding the ball too long” at the Olympics.

your country has been on fire since 2016.

Your argument hinges on the assertion that injury is the ‘only means’ of winning and that is demonstrably false.

Look I’m just happy to see a heated-but-respectful debate about Todd Frohwirth in the comments. This is how we grow: by LISTENING to each other’s arguments about submarining relievers of the George H.W. Bush years.

You know the raptors clinched the Eastern conference title yesterday and are onto the NBA finals yes?

Steamroll is the extreme example, but it’s the same whether the goalie is steamrolled or otherwise contacted. If the rule is suddenly you can contact the goalie so long as you don’t fully run him over, that would create chaos and a ton of goalie injuries (and FW injuries when dmen defend their goalie).
