Then there’s guys like Pete Conrad. Guy could wrench with the best of them. Had an engineering from the same place Einstein hung out. He even wrenched on the skylab with wrenches and hammers, and bent the wings back via brute strength. His hs awarded him a silver hammer for “hands to work”. Oh yeah, he walked on the

Sorry, that just makes it seem even less cool to me. But hey, that’s why they make chocolate and vanilla.

A coyote engine or really any engine from the blue oval would have been cool (if done with nothing short of beautiful craftsmanship). A motor from another make just seems like a stupid idea that reminds us all of what Mitsubishi was up to in 1917.

I didn’t do doughnuts, but I did drive over and park right in front passive aggressively. I then laughed because after a few minutes I tried to turn around and leave, but I didn’t know there was such a strong spring lockout for R.

I had almost the same experience in 2005. Except opposite. I was looking at GTO, Z4, Boxster. I was at Ritzel Porsche (Now Norwell Porsche). Nobody would talk to me so I sat in a Boxster to check out the fit finish and my butt fit. I basically got thrown out and went next door to BMW Gallery Norwell (now BMW Gallery

Chesty Puller once toured a Marine Corps base. After inspecting countless rows of Marines with perfect bunks and new uniforms he asked, “Take me to the Brig. I want to see the real Marines.” My favorite quote from Chesty was first spoken after a flamethrower demonstration, “But where do you put the bayonet??”

you should know I have a mini cannon on my desk pointed at my adversaries, and I am on the hunt for a slightly diffused claymore.

Received a ticket for speeding Memorial Day weekend. Cop assumed I had been drinking which I was not. He asked me over and over until I had to yell, “I have not had a drink in two days!”. Well he gave me the ticket and I headed home (2 miles after a 3hour ride from Limerock watching a race). I went to pay the ticket

Yup. I would love to see people with talent apply it in such a way that doesn’t screw with other people’s stuff. If this was a mural I’d be all over it.

Thanks Pickup-man. I’m struggling with the ergonomics of a lot of these. So many are all about show and not giving a crap about the whys.

Thinking about buying a Springfield for my first bike. I just took the class on a HD Street 500. I felt like a monkey riding a toy. I’m 6'1" and 310#. Should I back off and get a cheaper bike first like a Scout or a Sportster? Polaris killing off Victoy really has me wondering if they’re in to Indian for the long

I agree with you 100%. I also agree with this photo.

Were you flying United? Charlotte is an American hub. Bizarre routing to be flying United, unless it’s an uber cheap fare.

I was flying back from Chicago to Boston via Charlotte (cities may be a little off) when my father and I were bumped on our connecting flight leaving us stranded in Charlotte. The ticket agent was rude, and offered no help, even to the point of smiling and laughing at us and saying he couldn’t do anything but rebook

I will sell you my 14 cheap. Doesn’t have your other two requirements though . . . All the survivors today have had the crapcan exchangers changed out for lifetime stainless jobs. Hey that engine’s not from a bug . . . it’s from a 411 / 412 :-/. As awesome as the 914 is, I cant see spending the money they are

This isn’t as bad as you think. The 70s meant Porsche - Audi was a thing in the US. Back then the VW / Porsche combo meant a lot of things including money for Porsche to race air cooled engines, and the 914. A proper 914 is the ultimate Jalopnik car. No frills, not overpowered, great handling, and cheap as a chicken

I would say the 0-garage-0 time on the left is much slower than the 0-100 of the one on the right. I see the old Bugattis at Limerock everytime I go for the historic racing in September. The one on the left is destined to be a garage queen for its life.
