Actions do define us. That’s kind of my point. His good actions as well as his bad actions. So people who have experienced his good actions are showing solidarity. People who called out his bad actions went to court, got a settlement, and his bad actions were publicized and he’s being roasted for it. Both are true.

Tell me more, if you wish. Interested in why you think I’m wrong.

Lots of comments about creeps. This guy acted like a creep/douchebag/chauvinist/pig (pick your adjective). But does that make him that?
It seems in the social media/kinja era, we (the royal one of course) consistently presume that a person’s worst behavior is their core self. But humans are freakin’ complicated. Go ask

This was fine scorched earth Kinja. Thank you Damon.

That man is a goddamn king

The economy never recovered from that shade of off white.

I respect your take. And while I don’t agree with all of it, I agree with its core premise - that Gladwell and Simmons are good at what they do. How we value what they do is up to us...some value it more than others. Some think it matters. Others pay zero attention. Others find it offensive, sophomoric, and

My first favorite Giant. Born in ‘73 I caught his tail end but my brother had a McCovey poster and he was the slugger and I adored him as only a 5 year old can adore a sports hero. Bon voyage, good sir. May all the line drives be just two or three higher in the beyond beyond.

Also, in this instance, she was touched. She presumed it was intentional, when it wasn’t. But her accusation of being touched wasn’t wrong.
The world will always be more complicated than our social mores and laws can handle.

Assuming I’m black based on my typing is, um, what was the term I just coined? Oh right, “white stupidity.”

I know we talk a lot about “white privilege” and “white fragility”, but I propose we add “white stupidity” to the lexicon. When playing dumb is so dumb it means you’re actually dumb. Like the couple in this story.

Thanks for contributing the conversation in such a proactive manner. You’re efforts to solve tribalism and address 400 years of oppression and hate are duly noted. We thank you for your thoughtful addition to the conversation, as all perspectives are welcome here.

First, I love that Kinja shares a passion for these heroes of modern mythology.
Second, everyone is wrong.
Bugs is great. But he’s a front runner. It’s like being a Cavs fan, then a Heat fan, then a Cavs fan, then a Lakers fan. We get it. Bug’s is great. But he’s kinda hard to root for. He’s a bit smug and has too

I think you missed the tenor of my response. I was agreeing with your initial comment and calling out the hypocrisy of that reflexive “not my fault” attitude that people in positions of power often use when defending themselves, but refuse to give credence to when it comes from those in our society who have actually

Assume you meant “are racist.” And there’s a decent argument there. However, the point is that wealthy people are perfectly comfortable changing the rule for themselves (donations/legacy admittance), but don’t like when rules are changed for others (race-based affirmative action).
I’m perfectly cool with dropping

My actions require context and empathy.
Your actions speak to who you fundamentally are as a person without hope for change.

As you wish.

Are you a woman of color? Asking because it would be interesting if my experience as a white man and your experience as a woman of color both involved feelings of worthlessness. Perhaps he’s just an asshole who treated students poorly. Or perhaps he changed his M.O. in different environments. (though I suppose we

Junot has a fragile ego. I believe all his accusers. I studied under the man. He was openly dismissive of white men, openly coddling of women, the more so the bigger the chest size. He made homophobic statements. He was just generally unpleasant and all of it came down to a fragile ego. He didn’t hold power with

Just reminding the kinjaverse that if Chris Paul hadn’t gotten hurt this sense of inevitability wouldn’t feel so inevitable.
Oh and as a Warriors fan since the early ‘80s I’m gonna enjoy every single instant we have of this team. For years being a warriors fan felt like getting choked out by a raging Spreewell. Losing
