I am an admitted Taylor Swift fan, who tends to roll her eyes at Kanye and Kim, but man, even I think this is hilarious. Good on you, Kim. I’ve been laughing all night, and after this week, I needed that. Anyone got popcorn?

Same. Super over the criticisms of BLM that go “well this other issue is also bad so why doesn’t BLM care about that?!” If there’s something else you think needs attention then get your own movement, bro.

MIA, repeat after me: More than one social cause can matter at a time. More than one social cause can matter at a time. More than one social cause can matter at a time.

I think he’s like anyone person who just discovered these social movements. I’m sure many of us were pretty insufferable when we discovered certain causes. Besides, we should always try to embrace men, even young ones..heck, specifically young ones... to have a knee jerk reaction that a teenager is a future groper as

Shit, do we all have to publicly start apologizing for what little assholes we were at 14? This is going to take a while...

But when applied in reality, it’s only white guys that can effectively do this because an audience is more inclined to listen to them whatever they say.

and her regret that “black people have to act belligerent” to be heard.

But if we cast people with disabilities as people with disabilities, how will they ever film the scenes where the poor, sad disabled person gets out of their wheelchair only to later discover that it was all a dream? What are we supposed to do? Not film those scenes?

It’s viscerally embarrassing to read. I suddenly feel ashamed of all the obviously, transparently performative emails I’ve written to smart boys in a desperate bid to get laid.

Remember that classic scene in Do The Right Thing where Mookie asked John Turturro’s character why he used the word nigger so much if his favorite basketball player was Magic Johnson, his favorite comedian was Eddie Murphy, and his favorite singer was Prince? And Turturro explained that they weren’t “real niggers?”

Woman writes hit song. Declines to take credit for it until conspiracy theories/obvious logic leads fans/tabloids to the story. Confirms it in one very straightforward sentence because she feels no obligation to protect the fiction she and her ex-boyfriend spun about it. Deserves credit. Did write song.

I’m an economist and I fully agree. I did teach about bond prices in my economics 101 class but I’m not sure I would say that’s a basic economic principle everyone needs to know. Why is bond pricing more important than understanding what happens to labor and capital with trade? Why is bond pricing more important than

I call bullshit. Understanding bonds and investment principles has zero to do with the every day business of making ends meet for 99% of people. And that business about minorities paying more to borrow money? It’s not because they’re dumb/uneducated about how borrowing works, it’s because our financial system actively

She doesn’t address it in the article, but can you imagine if she has been trying to get pregnant for years but has had miscarriages? Between 20 and 33% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, but no one seems to think about that when they’re badgering other people about if they are pregnant, why they aren’t pregnant, and

When news of this was initially posted on Gawker I was APPALLED (though not surprised, really) to see how many people were almost giddy about Manning attempting suicide, as though being pushed to experience severe depression and suicidal thoughts is part of the punishment process and not textbook “cruel and unusual

This is the correct answer, IMO. I eat maybe 10-20# of meat a year. I justify this action by reminding myself that if every carnivore in the country ate the same amount of meat that I do, we could have a sustainable livestock system in this country without everyone feeling like an immoral asshole.

Seriously though, eating vegetarian a few days a week is easy and a great way to make an impact on the environment. I was vegetarian for a few years before I found affordable sources of clean food, you won’t miss the meat. If you’ve never heard of the Flexitarian Diet, it’s a good place to start :)

Ugh. I’m a carnivore but I’ve put myself on a 2 year plan to go vegan, starting with eating vegetarian 2 days per week. Thanks for kicking my schedule up a notch today, the slaughter and mayhem needs to stop.

As a mom i identified with the mother as soon as i saw the video. I know that calm. I was pulled over by a police officer who did not want to let me go. He kept coming back to my car asking more questions. I did not have nor was i on any drugs or alcohol. License, reg, insurance in check. I even had a gold card from

Also, the broken taillight reason was BS. Police scanner recordings revealed that the officer pulled them over because they might be suspects in a robbery because he saw a “wide nose.” They were straight up racially profiled (sadly unsurprising).
