At least the 'wide face' thing seemed like it was in service of a possible plot point, since during the first dinner date Clara mentioned that her student Courtney (who imdb indicates is the Afro-British student who challenged her authority in flashback in "Deep Breath" and bemusedly watched the secretary flirt with

" by season four… it's the Archer/Trip/T'Pol show. Say what you will
about Voyager zeroing in on three characters, they picked two of the

I can imagine two ways Voayger would have handled things, neither of them pleasant. One, as noted below, would have been to technobabble the problem away in a manner that let its character off the hook for any moral responsibility. The other would have involved bringing in sociopath Janeway from such episodes as

In principle I agree, and certainly Voyager's highs are higher than Enterprise's, but bad Voyager mixes unearned self-righteousness in with its blandness in a manner I just find nauseating. Looking over the IMDB plot capsules for the rest of season 5, the synopses for both 'Children of Time' and the season finale give away major plot points. The one for the finale is especially egregious since it basically gives away the ending, which I remember being really bowled over by when I first watched it years
