I doubt it. If I found out I were still in a secret marriage I couldn’t get out of in time, I’d have the “formal” wedding on the appointed date and then a separate “technical” wedding at the right time.

Then the institution had better have its interest be justice, or they could be in a lot of trouble - which a lot of schools are. I’m not going to cry for them.

First, this isn’t a child pornography prosecution case, so nobody really needs to consider this. And that’s good. There’s very little justice to be had in turning teen boys into sex offenders for sharing naked pictures of teen girls in a manner that would have been legal had both parties been just a few years older.

Even in a court, evaluating evidence is the job of the jury - ordinary folk. The only challenge a college is setting guidelines for how to conduct its internal hearings, what topics are permissible and which are not, and how to handle witnesses and the parties with fairness and respect.

That’s why they’re not criminal adjudications, they’re private ones. Their jurisdiction is limited to their students’ rights within the school. They are equipped to judge who can attend their school, and under what circumstances, and they have an obligation to do so fairly and thoroughly when it comes to issues like…

Sure they do. If a university student mugs a fellow student, then it could be addressed in a university adjudication process.

You would actually think that light weight and the ability to cut through anything would make lightsaber movements more conservative.

I believe there are a radically divergent “schools” of humor out there in the world. According to the school I most associate with conservatives, and probably Ted, humor is probably best defined as “an impolite thing that I agree with.”

I actually like his explanation. It doesn’t sound like he used any improper influence. There was no blackmail, no exchange of favors, no legal threats, not even any tantrums. He did what normal people do. He said, “I don’t like this, and I’d like to ask you not to use it.” And they said, “Ok.”

For anyone who is looking for some sliver of justice to come out of this, let me rub some sand in your eyes.
