The one question that kept nagging me the whole time I read this article, is Peri short for Periwinkle?
I remember that guy from the GIF up top as one of the hosts of last year’s Star Wars Celebration streams on YouTube. I wanted to punch my monitor everytime he came on and punch myself for watching any segment he was in. I can’t believe he got hired to host something else.
Sticking me for that extra $0.07, I see! I'll probably still get it from Lulu like I did for the first one. It better be twice as good, I'm holding you to it!
Twice as good... is that why the paperback is almost twice as expensive as the first one? I'm one of the few people who prefer physical copies over digital...
“At least, when I finally got a glimpse of the car through the thong of humans trying to look at it.”
That's funny. I waited more than that amount of time to get the exact car I wanted and it is white.
Don't you mean V-tec? Or the similar but totally different V-tech, also sometimes known as VTECH???
I think the Golf R needs that bodywork a lot more than the standard GTI...
Crack pipe!
Just give it another 5-7 years. The hipsters writing for this site or the new hipsters that'll replace them will suddenly want all of these cars they've been crapping on now because it's so odd and unique and unloved when they were new.
Ha, exactly. Hence, my comment on the random “facts” on the new TIE’s superiority that I’ve read. I’m sure the people who wrote that will be able to pull some obscure fact from some obscure place and sprinkle a little bit of conjecture into the mix and claim it as fact.
Yeah, I agree. I felt they should’ve used the Interceptor or at least built the new TIE off of it. I’ve heard the Star Wars hipsters argue that the original TIE is iconic so it makes sense to use it. The hardcore... nerds... (I LOVE Star Wars, too, OK?!) pull random specs out of who knows where (maybe a Bantha butt?)…
I couldn’t get over the fact that Interceptors weren’t in the movie to the point where I actually read a few SW thread debates on the topic (SW fanatical debates... shudder...). Now I can at least take a small bit of solace knowing that someone involved in the making of TFA considered them for the movie.
Just makes me think of this...
True, but I’m specifically calling out the fact that many of the ones I actually spoke to started getting an attitude the moment I brought up pricing. And, no, I wasn’t being pushy, just the first mention of pricing below their MSRP (or above!) offer got me defensive attitudes in return.
I don't know how true your statement is about dealers going out of their way to people interested in the Golf R. I've contacted every single dealer in my state and those in the surrounding states that are up to 3 hours away from me and only 2 were willing to willing to do something about price (though they never got…
As with most thing that get posted on this site, give it another 10-15 years and suddenly the new batch of writers (or maybe even you, if you're still around) will suddenly be saying this is the best thing ever because it's so quirky and weird and ugly and rare.
