Yeah, I agree. I felt they should’ve used the Interceptor or at least built the new TIE off of it. I’ve heard the Star Wars hipsters argue that the original TIE is iconic so it makes sense to use it. I couldn’t get over the fact that Interceptors weren’t in the movie to the point where I actually read a few SW thread debates on the topic (SW fanatical debates... shudder...).
