It’s not racist to have majority white staff. And it’s not sexist to have all male directors. Now, it is racist not to hire people of color because of their color and vice versa for people of different sex. I don’t necessarily agree with Rife’s logic here, but if we could make a list of talented amateur pop culture

It also makes sense he wouldn’t trust millions of dollars to someone who has only directed a bunch of horror shorts or a low-budget or ultra low-budget film. Katie assumes a guy with the same resume as the people on her list would just get thrown the keys and told to go nuts.

Katie is basically the left’s version of the Tea Party. Everything she does is purely reactionary and emotional and over the top.

So now we are harassing people so that they have to hire female directors?? That’s the true horror story here

Ditto for Splinter

I´m glad i actually read the entire interview, which makes pretty clear that they actually approach a lot of women directors and they usually reject the projects. His assistant tells him like 8 names of female directors they have approached, for god’s sake.

Nice how you are a fan of gender based discrimination. At the very least, you seem to be suggesting that Blum discriminates against women, because of their gender, in his hiring practices.

Why do bitter feminazis have to ruin everything. Not everything has to have women or be done by women. You dont see men bitching about teachers, nurses, and HR being dominated 90%+ by women?

Should they hire based on talent or diversity here? Becuase most of what’s shown in the article looks like ametuer local film festival trash.

yup. I just listed the “diversity” of this web site in another comment. Funny they can decry a lack of diversity elsewhere while doing the same thing in their own office

I like it when a black director or female director hate getting called black directors or female directors, and want to just be called “directors.” And then you have people like Katie who insist the other way around.

Maybe fix your own diversity problems before whining about others

Exactly, why would someone try to force thier opinion of how his business should run.. what a bunch of hypocracy.... No one cares who he hires and why. Nothing like jumping the metoo bandwagon. It dilutes and detracts from any feminist movement ever. This is a blatent witch-hunting piece that hurts any real attempt at

According to the article, Blumhouse offered her EVERY project they’ve ever done. The author just used “Truth or Dare,” Blumhouse’s objectively worst film, to bolster their thesis.

Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh. Women. Muh women. Muh.

It wouldn’t be a Katie Rife article if there wasn’t some political angle to get worked up about. Will your outrage about that Ed Wood movie at Fantastic Fest be a bonus feature on the blu-ray?

Lol who took the time to figure out this guy’s never hired a woman director? Who cares enough to write about it?

Well this article was a waste of server space....

Or he could just hire the directors he wants...because it's his company.

Is the implication that Blumhouse might be avoiding hiring female directors or that they arent falling over themselves enough to hire a female specifically?
