Yeah at this point I’m not really getting my hopes up. I mean the Miata is 2,300 lbs and, but costs a lot less. Hopefully all that extra money that the Elise costs goes into figuring out how to add lightness without dropping air bags.

Don’t think Toyota makes anything like that anymore, but keep in mind that the Esprit only had 350hp. These days you can get that out of a 2.3L turbo-4.

It’s a bit misleading too. The Lotus car division hasn’t been profitable, but most of their business is consulting for major manufacturers. And there is the F1 arm.
It’s more powerful than the original, but just as cushy. Honestly, that’s not such a bad thing for Lotus as the thing that was keeping them in the profit gutter was they really didn’t have any mainstream appeal. Selling cars to people like me is just not a profitable enterprise.
Hopefully it means the Evora 400 is selling well. If I had the money, I would love one.
