That Arkansas rep who gave his adopted kid away to a child molester, and seriously looks like the a cartoon punching bag.

That's what oral sex is for.

I think it might be sounding that way because their legality is predicated on them *not* being gambling, so Draft Kings/Fan Duel say "we're not gambling!" a lot. The state government is saying "you are too gambling [and thus subject to these laws]." (That's not to say there aren't people that are anti-legal-gambling

Because Nasdaq is playing by the rules of its state. If I tried to open my own stock market without registering it or whatever the fuck you have to do to legally open a stock market and just called it something else to get around the regulations, it would get shut down. That's what the DFS sites have done.

Ah, sure. I agree that some of the practices are more like gambling. Just not the concept generally.

But when you buy a stock you buy something that has value, which is not true when you place a bet. The fact that your stock certificate may or may not have value in the future isn't relevant. The same may happen when you buy a commodity or even a consumer good. If I drop my iPhone off a building tomorrow it no longer

What about the people there at 3 pm? At least the 3 am people might be drunk.

I guess I don't really see how this is relevant, as companies don't actually have a physical form in the first place. Accounting wise, it wouldn't be any different if you exchanged your piece of equity for cash or inventory or, I don't know, a bunch of office supplies they had on hand - it's always going to affect the

Ugh, the worst.

Man, it never would have occurred to me to make pesto without a food processor. Seems like a right pain in the ass.

For sure. None of these various cutoffs are pegged to inflation, either - see the current policy change about the FLSA- exempt income limit, which has lost literally half of its value since it was last adjusted.

Oh, cool. I had heard of him but didn't realize he used to work for Cooks.

Yes, he'll definitely exile them, not put them in murder camps or anything…

I haven't followed it closely, but what I saw in a quick google was the typical "higher wages = fewer jobs" that you always hear about the minimum wage. They also frequently suggest that no one could possibly employ these people if they have to pay minimum wage, which I find really odd and sort of old-fashioned. Maybe

A broken cell wall is a broken cell wall - it's not going to matter how it happened. What makes a difference in garlic flavor is the amount of cell walls ruptured and how long they are subsequently exposed to oxygen.

Why are you pre-mincing your garlic for pesto? Just throw everything into the food processor and chop it up.

Nail brushes or a plastic kitchen brush are also fantastic to clean box graters. (Unless you want little bits of sponge, that melt easily over tortilla chips.)

Cook's Illustrated (their magazine) is a fantastic resource for baking, especially finicky French stuff. I have made some seriously impressive desserts. (Still can't frost a cake to save my life, though.)
