Honestly this is one of the few things on my list. I've read it's land cruiser levels of tough, if I'm thinking of the right one, it's called the Prado in some places. 

Same situation, 2007 Element with 277k, and I need a 5 seat ride that I can find in a parking lot without checking 3 others first.

Well you can remove it for ventilation and there was a mosquito net made for camping. That said, I've had mine for about 18 months and I've never removed the glass.
