The most amazing takeaway from this is that Barry Sanders still considers himself a Detroit Lion.

Don’t be coming into this pity party with"pictures" and “evidence”!

If Johnson doesn’t recover that fumble, you’re glad it’s ruled incomplete. That’s the problem with complaining about officiating, no fans complain when the calls go their way. That’s why you’ll hear a stadium go nuts on a drive saving PI or holding call, even if it was bullshit. Also, it’s exhausting. If you can’t

Yeah, I was gonna say, the flag came out after his hand went up and smacked the OL in the helmet at the end, not while they were shoving for position. It’s a petty call, but not necessarily a blown one.

My problem with this take, as a Lions fan, is that actual contenders — like, teams actually capable of winning a division and a playoff game — don’t let calls like that irreparably damage their season.

A “pair” may be inaccurate.

It’s just more proof that we’re all dumb for watching. This was a particularly egregious example of shitty calls, but there’s shitty calls in every game. This one certainly sucks, but the Lions didn’t do themselves any favors with their miserable red zone performance, and maybe the most Lions thing ever, the 12-men

I switched to the Nats-Cardinal after Geronimo Allison got knocked out in the third quarter. That was... scary. And ESPN showed the replay in slow motion from three fucking angles before cutting to a commercial.

I note the owners are free to poney up the cash to hire full time officials.  You hire temp workers, you get what you pay for.  Sucks for the players obviously, but the league has decided to put profits ahead of decent officiating.

You’re “genuinely asking” why people watch football? I’m genuinely asking why people like you bother to “genuinely ask” questions like this all week every week during football season?

The occupations of the officiating crew are as follows: attorney, attorney, sales executive, CPA, attorney, insurance agent and retired high school administrator. Shouldn’t their occupations ALL be “NFL official and nothing else”?

...that’s a strangely specific thing to always have said.

I think the ref seeing Bakhtiari’s head bend back and Flowers’ hand up near the head certainly influenced the call. Those were two bogus calls, but they weren’t egregious if seen in real time.

It’s like I’ve always said: if you eat a stranger’s ass in the parking lot before the game, your mouth will probably taste like ass afterwards.

My tin-hat theory is that the NFL will not allow the Lions to win until they give back the Thanksgiving game so that the NFL can have it in a bigger market.

Word on the street is ABC's Hoda in the Pagoda is still a go though.

Amazing how so many people in China know so much about what happens on Twitter, a site banned in that country. It’s enough to make one wonder if a few of these offended Chinese people are fictional.

Love it when brands get burned going into business with so-called foreign country experts who name their marketing companies after Ayn Rand novels.

I just find it hilarious that the Chinese get so butt hurt over other people’s opinions of their beloved “regime”. FFS, how are you guys going to handle the world stage when you can’t even handle a Daryl Morey tweet?

I sincerely hope the NBA is starting to understand just who they got in bed with here.
