Yeah I’m pretty sure they have it set up such that anybody with autopilot pulls up to that area and gets out, then their car goes off and parks itself neatly backwards in the special “Teslas only” lot. I think the white line on the curb has something to do with it.

For what it’s worth, that area is where the valet booth is set up. Yes Tesla has a valet booth so their employees don’t have to park their own cars, although most folks do. Not sure how that works with the software but it might explain why it went there.
