Subarus AWD is what most consider an actual AWD system where the wheels all get torque all the time. Where the Rav4 is a lifted Camry. The AWD system they use is FWD based where the front wheels do most of the work. The same goes for Quattro in reference to the Haldex system. This video is a couple years old but great.
