I have been using Canary as my main browser, and whenever it starts crashing, it generally means its one of my extensions. I have found a couple culprits and now it is completely stable.
I just migrated my google bookmarks to chrome and now they are synched everywhere. Granted, would be hard to look up on another computer without my profile.
I just use google music, which currently holds about 40gb of my music. And with Adam's sweet extension, its pretty nice within chrome. [chrome.google.com]
Have you tried [pastebin.com] or if just simple text editing, start a page at [notepad.cc]. As for FTP, I can think of clever ways of using dropbox (even having links download to your dropbox), but if I really need FTP, I agree chrome is not my first choice.

Telephone company for local phone, features or DSL, and cable company for any package or continuing a promotional rate. I always mark my followup dates on my calendar, which reminds me I have to call Comcast today to keep that $19.99 a month internet rate.
Thanks for the inadvertent Summerland recommendation. Currently reading Wonder Boys.
I think they just needed a way to move from using the word downloads (which they use for post like their Lifehacker Pack) to something which encompasses webapps. But checking on it, it isn't that new of a change
