One of the original series' most on-the-nose episodes, "Bread and Circuses", ended with Uhura making the discovery that the "sun worshipers" that had been persecuted were actually worshiping "The Son of God". Even in Roddenberry's time, Trek acknowleged religion.

My opinion: If you find that inviting a guest like Yiannopoulos on Real Time is a bridge too far, then you probably shouldn't be watching Real Time in the first place. We need to treat bigots like people. Because there is no better person that can prove a bigot's nature than the bigot himself.
