Very, very close - Botswana, actually.

Botswana - still hanging around here, too.

Botswana! Still here, too!

Last week I drove a 2019 Corolla sedan rental car with a manual (overseas) delivered to me with only 89kms on it.

One very, very humble request - please try to minimize the effects of your rolling Exxon Valdez on the trails around Moab. Is there some kind of diaper it can wear? The well-traveled off-road trails in the area are already stained thick with tar, oil, and rubber, and the lesser-trod routes don’t deserve the same

This will get buried in the comments by now, but if you can find a Lowe’s or Home Depot and a bunch of rolls of this stuff, it will help patch the holes drenching your seat, and create some insulating barrier for sound, moisture, and the cold. It works like Dynamat, but is way, way cheaper.

Black hole? More like Uranus, amirite?

The real stinger was when the Avs/Nords won the Cup in ‘96, the very season they left Quebec. Just a killer blow.

The correct wheels, which Porsche usually does so well, can really help these cars from an aesthetic standpoint. The “Sport Design” rims on the car in these photos is a good example of this.

Your failure to check the exclusive “Pre-Rust Undercoating” option saddens me.

Hah! Damn, dude. I’ve waited this long, I can stand a few more weeks. Gave you a sub on YouTube, so you better get cracking on the videos, too. :)  Looking forward to the update.

Eh, it was ok - I think it paled against the other pieces in the NY Mag for that voyages issue, maybe that’s why I found it less compelling. It was a good story, and well-written as always by Caity, but it still traded in that “romance of the rails” trope that we’re so used to. I feel like Paul Theroux exhausted that

Are you straight up admitting the world is complicated and not easily packaged into blind binaries? That you’re asking readers to think in difficult and complex ways about human behavior and history?  Revoke this man’s journalism card!

It “slaps”, as the kids say.

How in the world did you guys manage to get this national treasure to write for this middling website?

Underrated.

Hey there Lawrence! I can’t find any other way of reaching out, so I thought I’d try here. How is the Corvair doing these days!? I really loved this build, but I feel a bit lost without a final write-up. @venturesomeoverland on Insta.

“you go outback with that, you’re not coming back.” I ended up with a Suzuki DR-Z400 bike instead. I did come back.
