Because a master’s degree ain’t cheap. Especially when you get one from northwestern.

Exactly. And that average SL debt that everyone likes to talk about...that is for an undergrad degree. You want to get a masters or phd degree...try doubling that amount. And unless your salary increases with it than you are SOL. Your budget becomes all about paying the loans.

Because I make a good salary. The government feels I can afford to pay more. So, even under the debt restructment payment plans, my monthly payment went from $800 to $600. Now, add on a car payment (almost paid off), mortage, taxes, and every other monthly bill and you can see why true savings isn’t happening.

My debt is under control and managed but I just don’t see this path to financial heaven people like to talk about. I have a 401k that my employer matches up to 4% and some small investments. But I doubt I will retire before 70.

Not trying to pry...but unless you have a job paying over 6 figures and zero other expenses, how did you pay off $154K in 6.5 years?

All of these financial goal planners are crap. They were made for a generation that doesn’t have student loan debt. I am 35 and 5 years out from my masters degree and still $60K in debt in loans. How in the hell do they think I can afford to put away money like that when my monthly loan payment is $600?

As curious as I am by this...I would never buy it from their website. The shopping cart and checkout isn’t encrypted at all! I have no idea when I submit my details (including CC or paypal info) if it would be encrypted or transmitted in the clear. Very bad coding.

Two things:

I am a huge type 'a' personality and I have 2 rules when it comes to deadlines:

I probably am really dumb for asking this but at 320 degrees...how do the towel not burn or catch fire? I realize it is wet but at some point it has to dry out. Do towels really have such a high burn temp?

That is what I have always done also. I used blue painters tape. It let me know what area has been cleaned out. That way I never had to re-open it again during the packing process.

I like how this works on a windows computer but how would this work on a mac?
