Is it just me or are there a lot of headline writers on the internet that think their audiences have no memory or intelligence?

Um... I was vaguely aware of this car’s existence and, seeing as this site has a readership of many thousands of individuals of varying ages,

The car absolutely meets my needs. The name, not so much.  If they had called it TSX/ILX I would have no complaints except for my dislike of the lower corners of the front fascia.  If this car had been available a year ago I would likely have one in my garage, depending on actual availability.  it’s not the car.  It’s

A thousand times this. if you’re going to try and profit from the nostalgia of an old nameplate, you better be prepared to meet or exceed the expectations of what the older product means to people. Did the Integra come in a 5-door flavor? Yes. Is that what people remember and love when they think “Integra”? Nope.

This. If they hadn’t named it “Integra” I (And probably a lot of other people) wouldn’t have a problem in the world with this car. It’s a nice car at a decent price. It just doesn’t feel like a spiritual successor to the Integra. Fuck with people’s memories at your peril.

Dis one or dat one?

It probably weighed in the decision-making.

Can you not read? I said there was a four door.

Except that you can’t get a Civic Si hatchback.  This car is for those 132 people. Me being one of them, if was in the market.

If Acura had said they were introducing a new small, sporty sedan I don’t think you would be reading most of the blowback that’s erupted around this car. But they are calling it an Integra which has a lot of emotional history to it. It’s not an Integra. An Integra/RSX was a two-door/coupe (mostly).  There was a

For some reason, all I can think of is this scene from the movie Contact...

Not unattractive and probably not bad overall, but not nearly as special as Acura’s hype led us to hope for. Definitely appreciate having another sporty car choice with a hatch and a manual gearbox, though. Too bad it wasn’t around when I was in the market a year ago.

I thought I was on YouTube for a second. The cover photo was only tangentially connected with the topic at hand but it did include an attractive woman.

Fire pit on the roof?  I feel like a photo of that thing as smoldering wreck shouldn’t be too far in our future...

You had 3 1/2 days to come up with a witty reply to my comment and that’s all you got? Sad.

Oooh! I would love to be able to do high-speed rail to Montreal and Quebec City! I live in Detroit. Once the Gordie Howe bridge is finished I could jump on my bike from home, cross the bridge, ride to the Windsor station and get to Quebec without a car involved at all- and it wouldn’t take forever to get there.

I’ve never heard of a pedal driven kayak. I doubt I would get one, though. To me a conventional kayak would be a good way to balance the leg exercise of cycling with something for the arms and upper body.

That’s totally joy.

One is a professionally designed but overwrought cartoon. The other an amateurish mess.

I’m on the front line of that situation and I get overruled by idiots who are more concerned with being trendy than with good human factors design.
