I’m sorry for your loss. I’ve had two family members die and another hospitalized with it. That last right there, told me to get the vaccine when it became available.

For every player that doesn’t want to take the shot and play bball, there are two more in the waiting wanting that same position and is fully vaccinated.

Just mandate the vaccine, and play the game.  If not, don’t play or get paid.  Simple.  Let the whining begin.

There is no logical reason for vaccine holdouts, aside from very rare medical reasons.  Which NBA players probably don’t have anyway.
