I am an MU alum and I relish the pointing out the fact that he couldn’t manage to earn his degree to anyone who brings up where he went to college.

Hanson, obviously.

Despite the fact that people seem to think that Wisconsin is some sort of perpetually frozen wasteland, a quick glance at climate details on Wikipedia shows the average summer month highs in Milwaukee are 10-20 degrees higher than those of San Francisco.

I’m on my 2nd Paloma of the night...and #3 is probably going to be happening soon. Hooray for summery cocktails!

I am super jealous that you all live in such agreeable climates...here in the upper Midwest I was *just* able to be confident enough in the weather to plant my balcony garden.

That, my friend, is the million dollar question.

Don’t forget the time he called the sheriff’s deputies out to meet a plane arriving in MKE because a guy on the flight shook his head at the Sheriff for wearing a hat of the team that the Packers were playing that day.

As someone mentioned in one of the other comments, he runs as a Democrat even though the majority of his beliefs run absurdly right. He originally was appointed by the governor at the time when the previous sheriff retired, but has somehow managed to keep being elected (even though something like >80% of Democrats in

I’ve seen that picture a ton of times (grew up the next town over from Romo and they love busting it out occasionally in the local papers/news) and it absolutely never gets old. Romo looks like every single dude I went to high school with in southern Wisconsin in the late 90's/early 00's.

Depends on the university. Some universities have their own police forces that have all the same authority as a city police force (ie. can write tickets, arrest people, carry weapons, etc). Others just have public safety departments that are glorified security guards with no legal authority. Best they can *maybe* do

Oh man, I miss Midwest something crazy. The first time I ever flew was on a MKE-MCO flight with them as a kid and I remember thinking it was the fanciest thing EVER. Cherry pancakes! Tiny little salt shakers! Giant leather seats! AND COOKIES!

So many nights spent at Real Chili (or Marquette Gyros, RIP) after killing an excessive amount of brain cells at Caff’s or Blow’s.

I recently started crocheting, and my “crochet zone” is giant pile of yarn (combo of some I bought and some donated by my lovely grandmother). I aspire to your organization skills...

Congrats!

Have you read “The Girls of Atomic City”? It’s about the stories of the women who worked in Oak Ridge, TN on the development of the atomic bomb during WWII. Fascinating story about something that I had no knowledge of...most of the women came to live and work at the facility having no clue what the project was that

I’ve been watching “Hello, My Twenties”. Cutesy Korean show with subtitles about a bunch of college-aged girls living in a shared house. Get’s a little weirdly dark occasionally but it’s fun so far .

I baked Irish soda bread recently using Ina Garten’s recipe. It was so stupidly easy that I kept thinking I was missing some big important step. Baking anything beyond sugar cookies and boxed cake mix terrifies me, so using ingredients like currants and buttermilk was sightly unnerving, but it turned out so tasty

Come on down! I only made half a batch and it made so much that I’m going to be eating the leftovers for lunch all week!

Those ham and cheese sliders are amazing. I made them for a football game back in the fall and I’m pretty sure I ate about half the tray myself.

I made homemade pretzels for the first time from scratch and it only took me two tries to get the dough right so I am pretty damn proud since baking with yeast is the woooooorrrrrst. Made two dips go with the pretzels: a mustard one and a big batch of obatzda (aka German cheese crack). t
