Have you read any of his other books? In The Garden Of Beasts is pretty interesting as well. It’s about the American ambassador to Germany in the lead up to WW2.
Kind of? He was the guy with the Mohawk who got Quinn pregnant in season 1.
Oak Creek,WI (although to be fair West Allis is pretty lousy with racists as well).
I’ve been on a kick making savory galettes recently. Toss a bunch of sauteed veggies in a tablespoon of dijon mustard and a tablespoon of greek yogurt/sour cream. Pile the veggies in the middle of a pre-made pie crust, fold the edges up to trap all the veggie goodness in the middle and bake for 40-ish minutes at 375.…
This story is so #Wisconsin that it might as well come with a cheesehead hat and a pint glass of Spotted Cow.
It’s officially the time of year where I become the crazy soup lady because a)I live in the godforsaken frozen tundra and b) I enjoy coming home to a dinner that only requires the effort of putting a bowl in the microwave.
Dear Fox Business: Perhaps kicking off your presidential debate by discussing Milwaukee’s history of attempting to assassinate a president is maybe not the best idea? Just a thought.
NM. Taking it to the liveblog. Carry on, nothing to see here.
He’s a comedian who has a show on Amazon called Catastrophe (American guy in London on business gets a girl pregnant, moves to the UK to be with her). His grammar issues aside, it’s a pretty fantastic show.
Oh hey there fellow cheesehead! (I assume!)
Feel better! Hot cider is fantastic. The spiced cider from Trader Joes is super tasty, especially when it’s jazzed up with cinnamon and nutmeg (and rum).
Sunday night I made this ridiculousness and have been feeding myself off it all week. Chicken and red potatoes tossed in Frank’s Red Hot and roasted for an hour. Topped with Mexican blend cheese bacon and green onions.
This song is so damn catchy and has been my “blow off steam in the car on the way home from work” song.
I typically enjoy Southwest (and am a long-time rewards member), but my opinions of them are less than favorable right now.
Polished off a bottle of IIPA beer from New Glarus Brewing with my dinner (a mushroom flatbread thingy from Trader Joe’s).
Roasted butternut squash and Brussels sprouts with craisins and Italian sausage. Tossed it in a mix of rice wine vinegar, olive oil and Dijon mustard.
Oh Marquette. This doesn’t completely make up for your b.s. handling of the Jodi O’Brien situation a few years ago, but it sure does help.
Per his own admission, Rannazzisi started telling people this story when he moved to LA shortly after 9/11. He continued to tell this story for YEARS before he discussed it on Maron’s podcast in 2009 (conveniently right around the time “The League” started and was becoming popular).
I may be biased since I work there, but I will always pick MKE if possible over either Chicago airport. Cheap parking, easy to get to, a good selection of airlines and awesome ping pong tables in the main concourse to kill time at.
