Chelsea Handler, I think.

It really is tempting to remember Bush as better than he was just because of the comparisons. But, yeah, it takes something that the current guy lacks to stand there and face people pointing out your flaws, and not whine, and to know the presidency isn’t a parade and people kissing your ass.

Obviously, they hated Stephen Colbert back in the day too. That said, do you think the set would have been perceived differently if it was a man telling the jokes? Is she being dinged for not playing nice, like a good girl should?

Exactly. Had it been as inappropriate as they’re making out, it would so so whether or not she had 20 kids or 0. She has an identity beyond who she married or birthed.

Remember, people:

“Clearly your idea of class and the rest of the worlds idea of class... are really really different.”

I will entertain no nonsense, bullshit criticism of Jay and Silent Bob.

And so why do you think people are being phony? What purpose?

In what way would they be crocodile tears? Do you think people only pretend to be concerned about privacy?

Republicans: Let’s compare Michelle Obama to animals, or should we just make jokes that insult both her and transgender people?* Or we can call her Moochelle, because ... so funny! Maybe a cartoon with her compulsively eating fried chicken.

Justice feels really good. How about we get some rape kits tested?

I do believe they did thank the public, which I’d say is different than thanking Michelle McNamara.

She had stayed up obsessively every night researching. Sometimes when she was asleep and her husband walked in, she’d go into full panic mode, thinking she was being attacked. She was plagued by bad dreams. The night before she died, her husband asked that she really get a good night’s sleep, and sleep until she woke

You’re, of course, absolutely right. There were cops that kept the case alive, and who willingly worked with Michelle McNamara. They wouldn’t let the case die.

Who knows when this all shakes out how much her book solved this, but I’d be amazed if the huge publicity for the book, articles and blogs she’d done in the past, working with the police, facilitating them working together, did nothing.

I have no verification, but someone on Twitter said he was the guy in the puffy jacket in the lower right. Again, I can’t speak to the credibility.

“I knew his wife was killed.”
