I honestly feel like the most the people I know, myself included, takes an inventory every day of shit they should get checked out. And then they wait until they’re scared enough that bankruptcy pales. My husband has needed a hip replacement for a couple years. Insurance? I’m a small business owner. I have to hope I

Dude is from wealth, one of the most successful writers today, charges a $45,000 speaking fee, this is before taking into account American Gods. I’m thinking he can cover the mortgage.

Now playing

“Maybe she’s not such a heinous bitch after all?”

Oh-em-gee, the Omarosa thing, which I watched on YouTube last night. Her uncomfortable giggling. The silence emanating from the audience, making clear they weren’t even going to gift her with polite laughter... Her evasiveness.

Kevin Smith said his main goal at the hospital was to not reveal his dick, and he was frustrating the staff since the situation was life-threatening, and they couldn’t shave him or undress him. Kevin’s daughter, Harley, is a vegan and animal lover. She’d probably love her dad to do an “I’d rather show my dick...” ad.

Well, I think Ireland comes by her fondness for PETA naturally — her mom is pretty involved in saving dogs (particularly Beagles) from animal testing.

Oh, really, is that what their website tells you? Well, that’s impartial. :)

Had the same experience with WWF. I felt I was saving them money by not donating

They don’t really believe in companion animals, and would be just as happy with there being no more pets. They’ve been responsible for a lot of euthanasia since — when the worst evil is “ownership” — that’s considered liberation.

Would they forbid further viewing of the original, or just the sequel?

Exactly, children see parental death as a chance for upward mobility. Don’t we all want our kids to do better than we did?*

And now you’ve made me cry. :)

Fair enough. It’s not for me to decide what gives you peace. I think the intent in cloning is to retain a piece of your dog, but for the reasons mentioned it wouldn’t succeed in doing so in a way that would give me more peace than just going out and loving again.

The only bad thing about a good dog — and they’re all good dogs ;) — is the pain of saying goodbye.

I should clarify — it’s past the point of editing — that I understand the impulse, just not that after thinking about the limitations (not really the same dog in looks or temperament, would not have the memories of your dog) it would still seem worth it.

I actually saw a different reporting of this story while at the bar with my husband. He said that he liked getting to know each of our dogs quirks and personality. They’re all uniquely weird. ;)

Yeah, I understand. The reason I have a thought out opinion of this is because of course I hated letting go, always hate letting go, and wanted him by me always.
