Okay, I think I see the confusion, and I take responsibility for a lack of clarity. I had to re-read my original post and I saw the vague and confusing wording.

I used to content edit, and so these notes are delightfully delightful. ;)

I don’t recall saying Hoffman’s crime was his response to Oliver, because that’s insane. That’s his hubris — to think no one dare ask him — not his crime. I merely praised Oliver for his choice to ask Hoffman about the matter, because a lot of people would have not asked him, as illustrated by his anger and surprise.

I can’t imagine a scenario where I’m in the news for allegations of crossing a line in the course of my job, and then go to have someone ask me questions about my job, and I think I won’t be asked about the allegations. I wouldn’t consider it being side swiped.

He didn’t bring it up initially, but he circled back to it. That he, as you say, clearly wasn’t prepared to discuss it speaks to hubris and privilege.

What in the world are you talking about? I mentioned a hashtag in a larger response, noting that John Oliver took an opportunity to hold Hoffman accountable and amplified the voices of Hoffman’s accusers instead of seeking to drown them out.

What else could he have done? Hoffman was the one who kept returning to it, but Oliver took the heat for “hijacking” the event. Hoffman could have admitted he is and was a powerful man. He could have apologized in a way that didn’t have conditions, and not claim that his actions were not indicative of who he is. He

Yes, thank you, John Oliver for modeling how to be a real ally.

So ... Lisa Kudrow?

I would expect nor want no bigger pool since I clearly delight in the way it is now.

Okay, honestly, there are only a couple dozen British actors allowed to be cast in stories about royalty and the people surrounding royalty, right?

“After all, she’s expected to quietly soldier through a difficult pregnancy, a crumbling government, and a potentially cheating spouse without losing her resolve. So she has no time for a man who simply gives up when the going gets tough.”

Like the way a good percentage of people who are spanked rush to say it didn’t damage them, and taught them boundaries, and so now they spank their own kids.

I took the heartbreaking part to be that somewhere in Charles there is still the kid who’d wanted to go to Eton but ended up in hell instead, and could only experience it vicariously through his kids.

Well, right. All those people were there based on what they could exploit, wanting to take advantage of positive stereotypes, like athleticism. In a very real way, they saw black men and women as bodies to be used, but none of these people were actively hateful. They would be the slave owners saying that the human

I saw one of my favorite authors, Victor Lavalle, had a novella out called The Ballad of Black Tom. Turns out, Lavalle, a black man, was doing his take on a very racist Lovecraft tale called The Horror at Red Hook. I felt I should read the Lovecraft first, which — and I’d read some Lovecraft in my early teens — was so

I just wish when he tells her to shut up she’d do more than look in the camera while posing like a muppet waiting for its close up.

“I prefer housewives who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty...”

Their, dammit, their.

Women found there voices in the latter part of 2017, but who was thinking of the men? This girl! ;)
