I have some lovely pieces that I bought in 1996 for a steal. I am not an art historian, but I do have great taste. I bought a lovely Danish dining set for $900 that is probably worth closer to $5000. TBH I think it was mis-labeled in the store (Boston area). Now I live in rural NY. There are some real gems out there

I don’t have anything made with leather or canvas. I have a degree in art history, an eye for design and I’ve been collecting 50ies pieces for years. I know what I’m doing, but thank you for mansplaining something I’m an expert at

SO much of my apartment is West Elm so I feel like I need to FIGHT but POINTS WERE MADE

“But it is a heavy burden. So heavy that none could lay it on another. I do not lay it on you. But if you take it freely, I will say that your choice is right; and though all the mighty elf-friends of old, Hador, and Húrin, and Túrin, and Beren himself were assembled together your seat should be among them.”

So friends, I was there. I booed. We were all ready for it. Woman in front of me had an “IMPEACH 45" shirt on, another man had a shirt that said “End Windmill Cancer.” Around the 4th inning of every Nats game, they do a salute to troops who are attending the game, they roll the camera to the service men and women, and

This was literally his first real public appearance in over three years. He’s always been at rallies where everyone is almost entirely:

This makes me feel so good. We might just survive this mess. Might.

Trump tweeting: The audience loved me. They were great. The best audience. They were all going “Ooooohhhh!” Really great. They were even trying to convince the umps to invite me to the locker room, shouting, “Locker, ump!”  Fantastic.

The best thing about this is that it will eat away at him way, way, way more than things like “credibly accused of being a Russian asset” or “revealed almost daily, often by his own idiotic admission, to have participated in criminal activity.”

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Is it thoughtless though? She’s not necessarily saying she’s denying the existence of her body (though the floating head comment does seem to over exaggerate her point). She went through years of eating disorders and body shaming by the media. When we live in a world where it seems like the only options available are

I think she’s opening up a conversation about body neutrality, asking people to imagine what it would be like to not think about their body, good or bad, for awhile. It’s a more passive conversation than she’s had in the past where she’s been incredibly forthcoming about the dangers of celebrities hawking diet fads

Jameela is a disabled WoC. Too much snark.

And Jameela herself has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, so kinda checks out! Just chiming in to second your yup.

Ya, body dysphoria is real and effects lots of different people of all shapes and sizes. As somebody who was overweight and now is quite physically fit (though I am a male so that does change things significantly with the womans experience) which I achieved after a traumatic accident, learning to be content with the

They are. Follow her IG. She promotes people of all sizes, colors, orientations and abilities. She’s one of the few celebrities consistently doing this on social media.  She isn’t perfect, but she is trying to do good things.  Meanwhile this site pretends to criticize Kardashian types while constantly promoting them

Yeah, that definitely could have been phrased/discussed better. Because while yes, body positivity should be for everyone, there are some genuine critiques about how the movement is being co-opted. However, the co-opting is not coming from skinny people trying to accept themselves, it’s coming from the diet industry

So, using your platform to snarkily tear down a woman who is using her platform to build others up? Yeah, that’s definitely a move that has you coming out looking good.

“As the body positivity movement, which began with the radical fat acceptance movement of the 1960s, has been co-opted recently by women of totally socially-acceptable, skinny shapes and sizes who think the movement is just for anyone who feels good or wants to show off their armpit hair”

This is the second day in a row that this site has thrown shade - or in this case blatant criticism - at Jameela Jamil.  She is one of the few celebrities using their platform to bring attention to how our culture judges women on their size and this site picks her to focus on?  Did she kick your puppy?
