My very first car was a 1960 Simca Aronde coupe! It was 1964 and I was a junior in high school and I paid $400 for it. I drove it for about 3 years. It was tough, pretty reliable, extremely simple to wrench on, and it had reclining front seats.

I’ve owned both a 65 Corvair and an 80's Corvette. The Corvair was better and quicker. Here’s my suggestion available for $23,500 in beautiful condition. - a ‘63 Riviera!

Typical a-hole whose momma is still paying for his tires.

Had one for several years - underpowered, poorly built, T tops leaked. Traded it for a 6 cylinder ‘79 280Z which was a far better and faster car.

Ibought one of these things new, but it was a 1986 with the loopy double spoiler! Fun to drive after you got accusomed to the turbo lag, which was really pronounced. The engine wasn’t sturdy enough for the turbo - I think I had the head gasket changed twice in 30,000 miles.

I owned the exact same model but in black (anthracite?) for 7 years and put 175,000 miles on it! The body is built like a tank and rides/handles beautifully for a smallish wagon. The big buck repairs include things like the air shocks ($2k) and the sun roof motor. For that price I’d buy it just to haul stuff from Home

It was 1964 and I was 17 years old when I bought a 1960 SIMCA Aronde for $325. Why? Because it was $325 and I wanted a car. Four speed on the column, about 50 HP, rear wheel drive, and heavy as hell. I believe SIMCA is French for crap judging how many times I waited by the side of the road for someone to tow me home.

Years ago before - Craigslist existed - I was trying to sell a 1979 Datsun 280Z. About 170,00 miles on it, repainted but with a little rust. Ran great and looked pretty good. Asking $1,000. First person to look at it asked what “Luxury Amenities” the car had. None and it’s not the car for you.
