Because you don’t generally warn people about nobodies.  Like, I’m sure you know a person or two in your life who you want people to avoid.  Have you taken time to call around every company in their industry to warn HR not to hire them?  And even if you did, how would that be perceived on the other end?

How would one go about doing that? I’ve known some real assholes in my life but I would only consider reporting someone operating within my own sphere. His classmates at Yale don’t have Feige’s number.

Probably just didn’t know about his behavior to people beyond their personal situation.  If there’s really a pattern of this then once the first public accusation is made, things start to snowball.
